SAN Anticipation

I'm so excited for tonight. I can't wait to see what the underclassmen have been up to all this time, can't wait to read the testimony journal, and can't wait to share some love in return. I'm also delirious with sleep deprivation, but it's been worth it.

Seniors, I'm going to miss you guys more than I ever thought.

check it check it!!

audrey yang SERIOUSLY has post-worthy advice!

so ... i am convinced that every dorm has a way to be broken into.

these are the ones i know/have used recently.

kimball -- the study room windows. lift 'em up, step on in.

naranja -- the doors closest to lag dining, to the right (a screen door i think) are always unlocked...

ujamaa -- the doors to the kitchenette i think, (the room to the left of the lounge) are usually unlocked..

roble the impenetrable -- has big windows on either side of the central door. seldom locked. pull towards you, push the screens inwards, and you're home free. no more waiting for the chance passerby...

hm...what else? haha, cedro has windows too.
i dunno about frosoco though...frosoco's pretty lively. people are easy to scream at if you want in. and since all the sterling quad houses are connected, once you gain entry to one, you're in.

really.
i'm surprised there isn't MORE theft than there is...

I remember when we played ghetto taboo (handwritten words on torn pieces of paper) during our frosh lock-in in the basement of St. Emydius, the old KCPC site. The same basement where we made sandwiches before service instead of after. The bread was just as soft and fluffy as it is today. Pastor Ryan seemed kinda intimidating back then.

I remember when we played Taboo (the real thing) during our senior trip at Yosemite. Something about that game. The trip was unforgettable. I was reminded that God's creation is pretty crazy. Especially squirrels and waterfalls.

One quart cartons of Dairy Ease (they used to sell Lactaid) can be purchased for 4.00 points at Wilbur Dining.

{sniff}

I just read Chinsan's email to the FiCS seniors, as we prepare to head off to Yosemite this weekend for the senior retreat. Gosh, I got seriously teary-eyed reading it...

"... Well, it's been a long way since that frosh lock-in of 2000. And we each have traveled various roads. But now, here we are together - with far too many bleary-eyed sunrises between us (tonight will probably not be an exception ;). Praise the Lord also that, despite the ever-nearing moment of graduation, it's never too late to form new memories of being in the presence of the Lord with brothers and sisters. Needless to say, I'm excited for you all, your trip, and what the Lord has in store.

May God bless you all tremendously, esp. during your time spent together this weekend among the mountains, mountains that testify with all of creation to the glory and majesty of our God. [...] And don't miss what will be right beside you when you're out there - the Lord and good friends in Christ. Wherever you may trek this weekend, may you be overwhelmed with reminders of God's goodness, mercy, and grace."

Mmm, "good friends in Christ." I look forward to that this weekend. I just wish our old frosh liaison could come with us...

I too wish to leave wisdom. One must question though, if in the leaving, there results a deficit...or if there was simply a deficit all along...

Impart wisdom is better. Leaving it means that its kinda just lying there...

At any rate.

Do not wet sand things for long periods of time.
The wet-dry-friction tends to cause pressure cracks in your fingers.

Also, never underestimate the power of superglue.

Superglue, an xacto knife, and some tape.

more practically, er...

er...

:T

hm.

declare Fuzzy majors. if at all possible.
Books are friendly. CNC coolant and lasers are less so.

my last tip for the night:

if ever you would like to drive to green/history corner/that area, without getting a parking ticket after 4pm...

park in the back of green in the 10min loading zone right next to the art building.

all the other spots are service spots regulated 24hrs a day.

and yet another fun bit of info:

verde closes at 1230 on fri/sat.

verde closes at 1130 sun-thurs.

here's another tip:

secret safeway does not have a bakery.

the big safeway on el camino does.

What a weekend...

I think I'm still recuperating.

To recall, Pastor Ting made a special announcement at Large Group. And Alice went into shock (among others, of course, probably including myself). "Who is this man?? I don't know him!" Friday was also Eddie's final large group and he shared a testimony for it. The man had only been with us for a few months, and I only saw him once a week at most, yet he did make an impact in my life. What an encouraging testimony... I hope he visits us next year. :)

On Saturday we celebrated Tina's birthday at Korea House. Mmm... And still all the Chinese people don't understand bi bim bab. ;) So two tables in our room were particularly loud, and we at the third table (Pat, Theo, Ryan, Sam, Vince, and I) were far more tame and, ahem, civilized. Well, Vince was tame until he decided to make fun of me. A lot. This, after a particularly brazen stunt he pulled over IM the other night. Oh, Vince, better be careful...

Today was Unified Worship. Cute children as offering ushers... Pastor Ryan getting cut off during his translations, in an already short message... A choir member falling asleep during that short message (and I'm still not sure that she was Korean - definitely looked Hispanic to me). Ah, good times. No, seriously, it was a blessing to worship with all the congregations. 33 years of God's faithfulness. Sobering to think that our class is just another brief blip in the timeline of this body. That a church would invest so much time, energy, money - everything - into such a revolving-door ministry is most encouraging to me.

Afterwards, we had lunch, courtesy of the KM. I may not understand bi bim bab, but I sure can appreciate it. Sadly had to leave early and miss games, but the reward was to attend Susie's senior recital. And wow. God has blessed Susie with such incredible gifts; it was wonderful hearing her play today. We praise God for your talents, Susie. Thank you for a spectacular afternoon.

And, finally, tonight was elections. A new (though not entirely new) officer core has been raised, and I am excited to see how God will use Ryan, Joanna, and Tina to lead the fellowship next year. Congratulations, you three! :)

Praise the Lord for His sovereignty.

Alrighty, time to get cracking on work that I should've done this weekend. Whoops.
